Incubators for newborns

Is there a procedure code for incubating newborns? And if so, do we repeat it every day for the period of incubation?

HIO TEAM ANSWER:

There is no coding for incubation.  The DRGs for newborns are defined mostly by the weight at birth - babies incubated are usually those born prematurely and thus, with lower weight. Therefore, those cases are classified into higher DRGs because of the baby's weight at birth.

Also, the hours of artificial ventilation (if any was performed) contribute in classifying a case into a higher DRG.
